On October 13th, the Massachusetts legislature will begin a series of hearings on several bills that could: Create a $15/hr wage for employees of fast food and large retail chain stores; Ensure fair scheduling so workers have their schedules in advance; Raise the tipped wage; Uphold rights for pregnant workers; Increase private home care agency worker pay to $15/hr; and more!
Schedule*:
11:00 a.m.: Groups begin to arrive @ State House. Use either public entrance.
11:30 a.m.: Rally @ Grand Staircase (inside State House)
Noon: Pick up lobby packets @ Room 437. Advocacy visits to legislative offices.
1:00 p.m.: Legislative Hearing @ Hearing Room A2.
2:30 p.m.: Convene on State House steps (outside State House) for march on fast food employer TBA.
