Chinatown residents and community members will share ideas for stabilizing the neighborhood’s future this Friday at the Chinatown Gate as they host an outdoor community planning exercise called Imagine…Chinatown 2030?
Friday, May 15th, 12:00 noon
Chinatown Park at the Chinatown Gate
The event is designed to coincide with the Boston Redevelopment Authority’s “Urban Renewal on the Move” information gathering session via the City Hall To Go truck.
“Chinatown is facing a housing and displacement crisis,” said community activist Baolian Kuang. “We don’t want the BRA to continue to use eminent domain for luxury development, like it did with Millennium Place. Our priority is to stabilize Chinatown’s working class core.”
Community activists will spread out a 15’ x 15’ canvass map of Chinatown and encourage community members to share their opinions and ideas about how to stabilize Chinatown’s future
