Come support workers at McCormick & Schmick’s restaurant in Faneuil Hall on Thursday, July 2nd from 8 AM to 9:30 AM!
The action is to support a group of workers at McCormick & Schmick’s who feel pressured by their employer to sign an arbitration agreement, and thus give up their right to collective legal action, and who are trying to stand up against what they feel is pervasive sexual harassment and verbal abuse by their supervisors. At 9 am, on Thursday there will be an all staff mtg at the restaurant in which the worker-leaders fear all employees will be required to sign this arbitration agreement or face termination. We hope this action will show our support for these leaders, give others the courage not to sign and discourage the company from retaliating against workers who are standing up against this agreement to improve their working conditions. The management of M&S has received a letter about these and other issues and six of the McCormick & Schmick’s employees have filed a ULP charge specifically about the arbitration agreement.
